Textile Treasures at Muncaster
5 March 2024, 10am - 3pm
BRAND NEW event allowing exclusive access to never before seen items.
Delve into the unparalleled legacy of Muncaster's distinguished textile collection.
Did you know Muncaster has a textile collection of international significance? It is unusual that a castle in the North West of England is home to such a collection.
Join us on 5 March to discover the treasures within:
10am Arrival coffee in the Great Hall and a welcome from the Frost-Pennington Family.
10:30am Embark on an exclusive guided tour through the Castle's prestigious state rooms with our Curators. Discover items from the textile collection that have never been displayed before, granting you a privileged access to see and hear about some of the gems within this expansive collection.
12.30pm Enjoy a delicious lunch in the Castle’s Grand Dining Room - the perfect setting for engaging discussions about the treasures you have just seen.
1:30pm Channel your creativity in a hands on workshop inspired by the collection and craft your very own Cycladic Cross Stitch, an exclusive opportunity to create your own treasure to take home.
Please note: Our tour will take us upstairs in the castle to see some items on display. A minimum number of participants is required for this event to go ahead - if this is not met, either a new date or refund will be offered.
