Muncaster Talks: The Future of Space Exploration
21 July 2025
Arrivals from 5:30pm
Talk at 6pm
Join Nicola Peverati and Dr Nikita Chiu to explore the future of our renewed space ambitions.
With major space agencies and commercial actors such as SpaceX and Axiom Space set to push the boundaries of innovation beyond the atmosphere, there will be plenty of opportunities for the UK and Europe to contribute to the burgeonoing cislunar economy. From reusable space transportation to landing astronauts back to the Moon, the space sector is rapidly evolving to implement and realize some of the most ambitious goals in the history of innovation.
This event will bring together insights from academia and industry to examine recent developments in robotic and human space exploration, as well as to explore emerging opportunities for the next stage of space commercialization.
This event will welcome Dr Nikita Chiu, Associate Professor in Space Innovation and Technology Governance from Durham University, and Nicola Peveratt, Communication Manager from Thales Alenia Space in Turin — one of Europe's leading manufacturing hub of pressurized space modules.
