Muncaster Talk: The Restoration of Cragg Farm

Our first Muncaster Talk of 2025!
Join David White and Liz Bates as they share their journey of moving from London to Cragg Farm, a hill farm nestled in Birkby, opposite Muncaster Fell and within sight of Muncaster Castle.
Since their arrival in December 2020 with their two young children, Sam and Rose, they've learned the ropes of farming from scratch. Discover the joys and challenges of their life at Cragg Farm as they discuss the heritage breeds they rear, the vibrant wildlife and habitats they protect, and the unique landscape where their livestock grazes on the common. They’ll also explore the farm's rich history, its connections to the local community, and the fascinating stories hidden in its buildings and archaeology.
6:30pm: Arrival and refreshments in the Great Hall
7pm: Talk with introduction from a member of the Frost-Pennington Family
Followed by a Q & A and free time to explore the Castle State Rooms, with Curators on hand for questions.
